How We Make Our Leather Garments

Ren Ellis has a studio in his home over looking the historic city center of San Miguel de Allende. This world class artist community is located in the State of Guanajuato - in the mountains between Mexico City and Leon.

This is where Ren creates his custom leather designs. After he has completed a new leather line he personally goes to Guadalajara in Jalisco to oversee the production of his leather designs.

The main store is located in the heart of downtown San Miguel De Allende one block off the Jardine at 8-A Recreo. The store is managed by John Vogel. Ren is often seen riding around near the store on his rowdy bike or his 57 Chevy Truck - making noise and living the life.

Ren uses the same quality English Lamb Leather in his samples as well as in his production.
He imports his English Lamb Leather from the United States. On many of his garments he uses goat leather for his lacing as it is more durable and consistent. He personally designs every item on his jackets, even the buttons and conchos. Click 4 Photos

All garments are Bench Crafted*

* Bench Crafted ( Adverb ) Individual artisians totally make a garment at their table and it is not passed around the factory to different workers as in a mass production line. Making the quality standards that much better and personal pride and responsiblity of the artisians
