Follow the Money: Why the U.S. Mainstream Media has Mexico Under Seige

Follow the Money: Why t...

Mexico is in a unique position to reap many of the benefits of the decline of the US economy. In order to not violate NAFTA and other agreements the U.S.A. cannot use direct protectionism, so it is content to allow the media to play this protectionist role. The U.S. media – over the last year – has portrayed Mexico as being on the brink of economic collapse and civil war. The Mexican people are either beheaded, kidnapped, poor, corrupt, or narco-traffickers. The American news media was particularly aggressive in the weeks leading up to spring break. How We Make Our Leather Garments

Rebecca Fass has a studio in her home over looking the historic city center of San Miguel de Allende. This world class artist community is located in the State of Guanajuato – in the mountains between Mexico City and Leon.

This is where Rebecca creates her custom leather designs. After she has completed a new leather line she personally goes to Guadalajara in Jalisco to oversee the production of her leather designs.

The main store is located in the heart of downtown San Miguel De Allende.  The store is managed by John Vogel. Rebecca is often seen walking round the village and living the social art life that San Miguel de Allende so uniquely lends itself to.

San Miguel de AllendeRebecca uses the same quality English Lamb Leather in her samples as well as in her production.

She imports her English Lamb Leather from the United States & Europe.

On many of her garments she uses goat leather for her lacing as it is more durable and consistent.  She personally designs every item on her jackets, even the buttons and conchos.

All garments are Bench Crafted*

* Bench Crafted ( Adverb ) Individual artisians totally make a garment at their table and it is not passed around the factory to different workers as in a mass production line. Making the quality standards that much better and personal pride and responsiblity of the artisians
